Thoughts From a seasoned Lasik Patient
I have spotted that more people I’m employed with are talking about, or undergoing, the Lasik vision correction process. I am not sure actually know why Lasik has all of a sudden become more preferred in my company, but I know that there are a bunch of rumours about Lasik that I am undecided are accurate. Let me just talk about my long term experience with Lasik. It has been more than eight years since I had the lasik eye surgery, so I was one of the early and brave trailblazers! Maybe I wasn’t that brave when considering Lasik, for my vision in each eye wasn’t as good as -9. Even now, Lasik physicians consider that an exceedingly strong case and do caution possible clients that the Lasik process will probably improve their vision, but may not eliminate the total need for glasses. The Lasik operation itself had mild pressure and some strange feelings, but no real pain or agony. This is still true in modern Lasik procedures, and with some luck they’re even better at keeping the client comfy. I do notice that now Lasik consultants also give a mild sedative principally for psychological reasons, which I think that I would have appreciated back then. 2 or 3 days after the Lasik operation I was shocked to find I had Really clear vision in each eye, at least 20 / 20. Considering my previous prescription, you can think how fervently I thanked my Lasik surgeon. Nevertheless I did also have transient symptoms of substantial dryness in each eye ( which was assisted by eye drops ), and also halos around lights at night. 1 or 2 months after the Lasik procedure I spotted my vision changing a bit, though terribly slightly . The simplest way I am able to describe it is that the crisp edges no longer looked exceedingly crisp, but each object still seemed to be in focus . At my one year Lasik correction anniversary my physician expounded that one eye was still at 20 / twenty, but the other had changed barely to 20 / 40. Nonetheless I was still a great statistic for the Lasik correction procedure, and we were both still pleased with the results . In the years between the original Lasik procedure and now, my vision is still twenty / 20 in one eye and 20 / forty in the other. I am doing have a couple of glasses and one contact lens for that eye, but infrequently bother with them unless I am doing something similar to watching a production. My long track record after the Lasik process has given hope to a bunch of folks in my office. I really want to say though that I was over 35 when I had the operation , and my Lasik consultant expounded that the stableness of my eyes and my age were good indicators that the Lasik results would be long term. I’m hoping this offers encouragement to folk with bad vision to talk to a local Lasik surgeon about lining up a Lasik procedure.
